13:00~15:00 | Recent Trends of Seismic Isolation and Effects during Big Quakes Recent trends of seismically isolated buildings and devices will be mentioned, and effects of seismic isolation during big quakes in two decade will be shown by observed records and perceptions of occupants. Seismic isolation will be extended for future quakes. Speaker Internationalization Committee / Takenaka Corporation Mr. Higashino Masahiko The Japan Society of Seismic Isolation |
15:30~17:30 | SUSTAINABLE DESIGN THROUGH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY -How BIM Enables Better Design Process and Green Outcomes- By 2050 all buildings will be designed and constructed in accordance with advanced sustainability features. Rating systems like LEED and CASBEE are just the earliest manifestations of green requirements; buildings in the future will be required conserve water, produce no carbon, use no energy and impact the environment minimally. In order to achieve these objectives, architects must understand the implications of their design decisions long before construction begins and can best accomplish this by creating digital simulations of design through Building Information Modeling (BIM). This lecture will explore how BIM is a platform for optimizing sustainable design objectives, is the basis for simulation and analysis, and creates more environmentally responsible buildings. It will explore the strategies and capabilities of advanced digital design and construction technology and demonstrate by current examples how BIM enables sustainable design.
